Seriously..... are you kidding me?!?

Bob Dylan on Broadway - anyone else chuckle when they hear this? I saw a musical number from the new 'Times They Are A-Changing" on Broadway. I think the whole famous songwritter into a musical is way over done. BOB DYLAN?!?! And then there's Twayla Tharp. I'm all about dance and respect all those who are contributing to it - but I'm sick of Twayla Tharp. With her bare feet and off beat moves... Enough already.

The song I saw performed was 'Like A Rolling Stone', sung pitch perfect and incredible diction. The "dancers" in the background were dressed up like clowns (eek), dogs, seals and mimes... bouncing on exercise balls and flopping all over the stage. Seriously.... This is the best routine from the show? This is worth spending $100 a ticket for? Are you kidding me?!? BROADWAY - I challenge you to go back and be original and daring with the arts you produce.

Visiting Maggie

I will be going to Washington, D.C. this weekend to visit Miss Magdalyn! I am sooooo excited! I haven't seen her since she left back in August. It'll benice to just to see her and hang out. Looks like we're going to a Halloween party - I'll be needing to put another snazzy costume togehter. Other than that, we really have no plans - just to enjoy each others company. I have all of Monday to myself while she is at class. I'll most likely do a little sight seeing and souveneir shopping. So looking forward to this - and I get to take my first plane ride ALONE! I hope I have a nice neighbor who won't mind me squeezing his/her hand during take-off!

Aw, suck!

Casino mogul Steve Wynn ripped a hole through his $139 million Picasso painting while gesticulating at a cocktail party, reports the New York Post. Nora Ephron gave her own first-person account of the damage: It was "a black hole the size of a silver dollar … with two three-inch long rips coming off it in either direction." Wynn had just agreed to sell the painting; now, the deal is off. Is there any way to fix the ripped Picasso?
Yes, but it will be slow and tedious work.

Mark Freakin' Zupan

Like most days, The Jim Rome show was on in the office. Usually, the show is about how badly expectant teams are playing or the weekly famous athleate that goofs up. Today, he interviewed Mark Zupan.
For those of you who do not know whom I speak of, he is an amzing American who plays wheelchair rugby. He starred in the movie, 'Murderball'. I have seen this movie and was inspired by the entire film. The obsticles he has had to battle, his outlook on life, his determination... but after today, I am a Mark Zupan fan. He is, in every sense of the word, a role model. He lives life to its fullest and isn't afraid of challange. Infact, he thrives on it. It makes me want to demand more of myself.

Ode to Oreos

I'm not a health nut, but I really do try to eat sensibly. Three square meals a day, a bit of snacking... my downfalls are coffee and soda. But overall, I eat well. Until I get my Oreo craving - once a month (if you know what I mean).
I have been known to sit down and eat an entire bag of Oreos in 2 sittings. With a big glass of ice cold 2% milk. I enoy the double-stuffed. This month, to my enjoyment, I bought a bag of orange creme doubled-stuffed Halloween Oreos. And ate them all in 2 sittings. They were fantastic!
There's something about the crunch and the sweet and the chocolate. It's the perfect cookie. And they are my weakness every 28 days. God bless Nabisco.

Adieu CBGB's

CBGB's is closed - that was the title on the web page today. I find it so sad. A true American Historic site.
I got to visit CBGB's twice in my life - both times purly magical. The history, the allure, the magic... it was amazing. For bands like The Ramones, Blondie, The Sex Pistols to all have played and started there... classic.

Autumn

I simply adore Fall. Everything about it! The chill in the air, the changing of colors, pumpkins, leaves falling, apple cider, red sunsets... amazing.
